On October 23rd Erin, family and friends “Walked for a Cure” and raised over $3,200 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, (JDRF). Of that, $1,000 came from many of our Stand Out friends and clients from our June fundraiser.
It was a gorgeous Sunday morning in Philadelphia. We picked Erin up from college and went to the JDRF Walk for a Cure. The walk started on the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. If you’ve seen the film “Rocky” those steps will look familiar to you. During the walk Erin & I stopped to give thanks to all those who donated… as you can see in the video.
This fall marked the third year anniversary of Erin’s Type 1 Diabetes diagnoses. A life changing event for her. Since then she has had to stick her body with over 7,000 injections of life saving insulin. The insulin keeps Type 1s alive, but is far from a cure.
Thank You Stand Out JDRF Donators!
